Fridgee is a place for fridges. Not for fights, not for ads, not for cruelty. These rules are short because they are simple.
The short version
- Show your fridge, not your life.
- Ask before you show other people.
- Laugh at fridges, not at humans.
- No undisclosed advertising.
- Don't play with the numbers.
1. What belongs here
Fridges. Inside, front, door. Full, empty, tidy, catastrophic – all of it is interesting. An empty fridge is an honest post, not a mistake.
Plus: titles, descriptions, hashtags and comments that actually relate to the post.
2. What doesn't belong here
Violence and shock content. No injuries, no animal cruelty, no images nobody wanted to see.
Nudity and sexual content. Fridgee isn't the place. Not even "accidentally, in the reflection of the fridge door".
Hate and degradation. No attacks based on origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or weight. Not as a joke, not in comments, not in hashtags.
Bullying and threats. If you're out to destroy someone, you're in the wrong app.
Content involving minors. No photos of children, no school notebooks with names, no drawings with full names and ages – not even stuck to the fridge door.
Personal data. No addresses, phone numbers, prescriptions, invoices, ID cards, letters. They hang on fridges surprisingly often. Crop them out.
Dangerous instructions. No tips about drugs, weapons, self-harm or eating disorders.
Undisclosed advertising. If you're paid for a post or got the products for free, say so clearly – in the title or description, not in the 14th hashtag.
Spam. No bulk uploads, no bot accounts, no "follow for follow" chains, no links to dodgy sites.
Other people's images. Don't upload photos you didn't take or don't hold the rights to. A screenshot from Reddit is not a fridge post.
3. Other people in your photos
This is where Fridgee is special: fridge fronts are pinboards. Holiday photos, wedding invitations, children's drawings, postcards from people who were never asked whether they'd like to end up in an app.
Ask them. Or blur them.
Before uploading we offer to detect faces automatically and blur them – the detection runs on your device, the image doesn't leave it for that. Use it.
If someone recognises themselves in a photo: report it, we'll take it down.
4. Comments
Be as cheeky as you like – about the fridge, not about the human.
| Fine | Not fine |
|---|---|
| "Six mustards and no bread. Bold." | "You look like someone who owns six mustards." |
| "That crisper is a crime scene." | "Eat less, you …" |
| "#EATGARBAGE is a statement, not a lifestyle." | Insults, threats, doxxing |
For the record: the original 2015 design already sketched a troll, with another user pushing back. That was realistic. The troll still gets banned here.
5. Votes
▲ and ▼ are your opinion. Vote however you want.
Not fine: secondary accounts, bought votes, organised vote rings, scripts. We detect it, and we remove the votes and the accounts.
6. AI features
Food recognition, recipes and fridge types are AI-generated and labelled as such. They get things wrong. Always check expiry dates, allergens and spoilage yourself.
Roasts are jokes at the fridge's expense. If a line lands wrong: report it, we'll fix it.
7. What happens if you break the rules
Depending on severity and repetition:
| Step | Measure |
|---|---|
| 1 | Notice. We tell you what didn't work. |
| 2 | Content removed. With reasons. |
| 3 | Reach limited. Your posts stay out of Cool and Trending for a while. |
| 4 | Temporary suspension. Usually 7 to 30 days. |
| 5 | Permanent ban. Immediately for serious breaches, skipping the steps above. |
Immediate bans without warning apply to content involving minors, sexualised violence or concrete threats. We report such cases to the competent authorities.
8. When we get it wrong
We do sometimes. Every decision comes with a case number and reasons, and you can appeal within 6 months: service@fridgee.net, subject "Appeal". Someone other than the person who decided first will look at it again. Details in the Terms of Use, section 8.
9. Reporting
On any post, comment or profile: long-press (phone) or "…" (desktop) → Report. You get a case number and, once we've decided, a message.
You can also simply block someone. Then you don't see each other any more, and nobody gets told about it.
Authorities and trusted flaggers can reach us at service@fridgee.net (Legal Notice, point of contact under Art. 11 DSA).
In short: be the flatmate you'd want to live with. Don't tidy your fridge before you photograph it – but do tidy your comments before you send them.
